A blog dedicated to asking if what Jesus said and taught and did is true. If it is, then how should we live? Should we live as if?

Experience

We should be careful to get out of an experience only the wisdom that is in it— and stop there; lest we be like the cat that sits down on a hot stove-lid. She will never sit down on a hot stove-lid again— and that is well; but also she will never sit down on a cold one anymore.

Less of a man

I felt sad and lonely,
old, worn out and
somehow less of a
man than before I'd
began
To be together last
night for
companionship was like
looking at a shell of a
man: somehow still
alive and yet,
not so much
a total lack of
one might expect
from a friend who
accepted your help and now
had no gratitude
no awareness there
might be give and take (usually),
not just take
this
sounds harsh perhaps,
and yet, sadness rushed in

because his friendship
I miss

and now
I feel sad and lonely,
old, worn out and
somehow less of a
man than before I'd
began

Interesting question: does having more people praying for healing (for example) going to see result in a different outcome than only one or two people praying?
